Learn All the Fundamentals of Solar Energy and the Process of Generating Electricity Through It

It was about more than a century ago that solar energy was first ever discovered and used and the energy sector hasn't been the same ever since. Solar energy is the energy that is extracted from the Sun and used to produce electricity. The sun's energy is trapped and stored in Solar panels which are a combination of various solar cells put together to produce a maximum amount of electricity. The top solar cell manufacturers in India and all around the globe manufacture 4 different types of solar panels of which we shall talk about in the latter part of this article.

A little something about the secret of constant emission of energy on Sun

As we know the Sun is the biggest star of our solar system and its constituent elements are Hydrogen and Helium. In the core of the sun, Hydrogen atoms keep breaking into Helium atoms and it takes 4 hydrogen atoms to form 1 helium atom. This process is called nuclear fusion and is a continuous process that the Sun experiences every moment.

The sun experiences constant breaking of hydrogen atoms into helium atoms which is why it never ceases to emit energy. Hence, the sun is called a huge ball of fire and this energy that it emits/radiates is further received by the solar modules which use it to produce electricity.

How do the solar modules work and what is the principle they follow?

Solar panels are like a storehouse where the solar energy is collected and stored and is further used to produce electricity. The typical solar modules which we use are composed of various individual solar cells, which are further made of layers of silicon, boron and phosphorus.

The Silicon layer of the solar panel acts as a semiconductor and so when the photons from the sun rays strike the surface of the panel it knocks out the electrons from the silicon layer and pushes them into the electric field generated by solar cells which in turn generates electricity. This process is called photovoltaic effect and hence solar panels are also called Photovoltaic Panels or PV panels. There are different types of solar panels such as Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline, PERC and Thin-film Solar Panels.

Premier Energies is one of the leading solar pv module manufacturers in the industry. When it was first established back in 1995 the company had set up an assembly line with an initial capacity of just 3 MW p.a; that figure has for now risen to multiple times high. They deploy and install different types of systems like ground-mounted, rooftop, floating, canal bank, canal top and hybrid power generation systems. As of now they have a 1.4 GW assembly line and a 700+ MW solar cell manufacturing capacity. The firm has really outdone itself in its performance and this sheer dedication is what makes them second largest in the country and the largest in the Southern region of the country.
