Gift givers and gemstone lovers significantly favor a birthstone.  Each birthstone has unique properties and responds differently.  A birthstone history represents the period of birth, usually the zodiac sign or the month.  Birthstone origin can be traced in the Book of Exodus and biblical times.  The breastplate of Aaron had twelve stones which represented different tribes of Israel.  Till 18th century Birthstones were assigned concerning the birth month, but in 1912, the National Association of Jewelers’ list of birthstones used in modern times has remained the same.
